KITCHEN of the Casa
We attach great importance to the meals for our guests. In the morning a rich breakfast buffet is awaiting you, with cereals, fruits, tomatoes, sheep cheese, and much more. Of course there is also home-baked bread.
For lunch and dinner the cook will treat you with fresh salads, risotto Milanese, lasagne, tortellini in butter and sage, or stuffed zucchini, just to name a few of the kitchen's highlights. Refreshing water from our own spring quenches your thirst, and delicious local red wine always accompanies the meals.

THE HISTORY OF THE CASA
In former times Casa Pian di Bonano was a rural estate inhabited by tenant-farmers who built terraces to grow corn, kept sheep, pigs and goats and had to carry water half a mile uphill from a well. In the 1960s when living conditions in the cities became more attractive they abandoned the place.
In 1980 Giovanni Dellefant bought the property and with the help of friends and volunteers the three buildings on the estate were made habitable in a rough-and-ready way, and soon the first activities started. Slowly more and more renovation work was done. Casa Pian di Bonano was transformed into a guest house.
Every year during the summer months there was full house: trainings for teachers, social workers and psychotherapists, as well as meditation groups and artistic workshops, with participants mainly from Germany and Austria took place. Later the Waldorf schools from Hamburg, Dresden, and Lübeck discovered the place and brought their graduating classes each year for one or two weeks of artistic education. Giovanni, the "padrone", has cultivated the art of cooking and developed his love of regional culinary traditions. In the rural setting of Casa Pian di Bonano he prepares for his guests hearty and delicious meals with fresh local products, exquisite olive oil and herbs from his own garden.
